你知道的名言 不知道的金融故事

這是一句古老的諺語，坊間流傳的版本有許多 ，用詞
略微不同，但邏輯都是一樣的。 著名經濟學家凱因斯 (John

Maynard Keynes) 在他的文章《第三階段海外金融政策》

(《Overseas Financial Policy in Stage III 》) 中寫到：「俗話

說，如果你欠銀行一千英鎊，你會任其擺佈；但是如果你欠的
是一百萬英鎊，那麼情況將反過來。」(The old saying holds,

owe your banker £1000 and you are at his mercy; owe him

£1 million and the position is reversed.)

由於 1947 年《時代週刊》雜誌引用凱因斯的話，從此大
家都把這句話當作凱因斯所言。1982 年 2 月《經濟學人》雜誌

將此話改為「如果你欠銀行 100 英鎊，有麻煩的是你；但是如
